JPPG is holding our August meeting at a special off-site location! We have been invited to the Green Cove Springs private hanger/residence of 27 year veteran and retired Navy pilot John ‘Lites’ Leenhouts. We have a fun evening planned with small group instruction, models and a backdrop of lots of antique planes and cars. JPPG experienced photographers will share their approach to composition, lighting & posing. We’ll wrap up the evening in the hanger with Q&A. You’ll go home inspired with lots of great ideas and techniques to use in your photography business. Please join us in Green Cove Springs!

When: Tuesday, August 23rd, 2011 at 6pm. (please note earlier starting time)

Where: 5265 Airpark Loop West, Green Cove Springs, FL 32043

GPS users: Use the intersection of US17 & Airpark Road and not the address.

Directions from I-295: Exit US17 South (Roosevelt Blvd). Continue about 15 miles, past the SR16 intersection, then continue an additional 5.9 miles south. You’ll see Batton Road on the right. Take the next right onto Airpark Road which is gravel. Right at the dead end with lots of mailboxes, left on the gravel curve, cross the grassy runway then take a right. Signs will be posted to assist you.

Where do I park? We will direct you where to park. It is fine to come late, but if someone is not standing there to help you park, please HONK twice and we will come to you. Please do not park without assistance because this is private property and there are designated taxi lanes for planes in between each hanger/residence. Carpooling is encouraged!

Can I bring my gear? Yes! This is a hands on seminar.

What do I wear? Please dress comfortably in summer casual clothing. You may want to wear closed toed shoes however, as we will be in a grassy field that is certain to have ants and other insects.

What else should I bring? Bottled water. Insect repellent. If you have a camp chair, bring one in your trunk just in case we don’t have enough for the Q&A at the end of the evening.

What will be provided? Iced coolers for your bottled water, extra repellent to share if you don’t have any, inside bathrooms for your convenience.

How can I use the images I take? Personal use and portfolios only. You may not sell any images or publish them anywhere without prior written permission from the property owners.

Model Releases will be available in trade for digital files, so you

It is definitely going to be lots of fun. Our experienced members are gong to mentor small groups with the models, so this is going to be both instructional and hands on! Please go to our event page on facebook and RSVP. Please also plan on carpooling if you can. We look forward to seeing you there!

How can I get involved with this group? I am not a pro but photography has been my hobby for years. I shoot with a Canon 5D and 5DMarkII. Now semi-retired and would like to make money at it.

Looking forward to seeing everyone there tomorrow night! It’s going to be a lot of fun! We’ll be getting together after the meeting too for some socializing and a bite to eat! Hope you’ll join us!

    Tracy,

We love to have new members! You can go to ‘about JPPG’ and click on ‘membership info’ for details. If you are charging clients and making even a minimal amount of money, you’ll join as a professional member and provide your State of Florida Tax Certificate. Most photographers that I know fit into this category because it takes money to buy all of the equipment we want, right?!

We do offer memberships for those that are not yet charging anything for their services – student and aspiring, but those members would not have a business website, business cards, etc.

We look forward to meeting you tomorrow and can answer your questions and get to know you!

    I will be there
