At last months meeting, along with all the regular members, we welcomed two new guests. Karen Joseph was announced that the membership drive would be starting again. For anyone that refers a new member who joins by the next meeting, the referrer will receive a free camp card. The camp card has offers like free chips and salsa at Chili’s, a $5 cupon for Publix, a three entree at Panda Express for the price of a two entree meal, and many more offers.
Ken Moran talked about the upcoming Cutting 4 Kids event. Last year, because of lack of sponsors, Cutting 4 Kids didn’t happen. Thanks to Nimnict Chervolet, Cutting 4 Kids is happening this year. Ken is looking for volunteers willing to photograph the event on August 3rd, 12:00 – 4:00.
Ken also spent a couple of minutes giving us a quick update on the JPPG mini-seminars. He said that there were still a couple of slots left in a few of the classes, but that many classes were on the edge of selling out.
Kevin Floyd came up to talk about the upcoming speakers for the next several months. A few of the speakers we have planned out for the next meetings are:
May – Dr. Bobby Carlson (The Psychology of the Sale)
June – Gary Hughes (with a presentation on wedding photography)
July – Alex and Sam (from Imprints Cinima with a program on branding)
Next, all the board members of JPPG were brought up to the front. Keely Deuschle started talking about Life-Time memberships, and introducing a few of the life-time members of JPPG. Keely said that currently, there are only six life-time members, but that today they were welcoming a seventh. Marianne Pophal was presented with a plaque and a life-time membership. Congratulations Marianne!
After a picture and hug from her husband, Marianne announced the winners of People’s Choice.
1st – Ramphis Camphus
2nd – Cliff Addy
3rd – Olis Garber
Jeff Nelson drew door prize winners as well as the 50/50 winner, who won 35 dollars. Kevin came back up and introduced the speaker for the night, Jeffery Shaw.
In Jeff’s presentation, The Photography Buisness Through a Different Lens, he walked us though his buisness equation: Purpose + Positive Action – Limiting beliefs = Prosperity. He talked about each ‘variable’, one after another, starting with Purpose.
He spoke about what motivates us and makes our individual buisnesses recognizable, the “Perfect” lists, auctioning and how to start using auctions, referrals, and switching from features to benefits. He taked about financial bench marks, and material pricing versus behavioral pricing.
He wrapped the presentation up with the next steps we should take and told us about a few of his buisness help programs; for more information please visit http://jeffreyshaw.com.
After the meeting, 25 of us headed over to Chili’s for dinner.
Hope to see you next month!
