Congratulations to JPPG Members – PPA Degrees, Medalists, Certification

Our JPPG family extends a congratulations to several of our JPPG Members on their recent accomplishments and recognitions!

Certified Professional Photographer

We are very excited that our own Tammy Czigan has recently become JPPG’s newest Certified Professional Photographer (CPP). This is a designation that less than 3% of all professional photographers earn. Those who have earned the Professional Photographic Certification have passed a comprehensive written exam measuring their technical expertise, and have successfully submitted their work to a panel of judges for review and approval. Individuals must be re-certified every 3 years to retain their certification. Tammy proudly joins our other JPPG CPPs Cliff Addy, Jennifer Mosley-Connell, Damon Fecitt, Kevin Floyd, Susan Michal, and Keely Deuschle. Congratulations, Tammy! Learn more about Certification.

PPA International Photographic Competition Medalists

We also extend a congratulations to our JPPG Members who were Medalists in PPA’s 2014 International Photographic Competition and who were recognized at the Grand Imaging Awards in February 2015 in Nashville, TN.

  • Platinum Medalists: Platinum Medalists had three images included in the PPA Loan Collection and one image in PPA’s General Collection. Congratulations to our Platinum Medalists,  Ken Moran and Susan Michal.
  • Silver Medalists: Silver Medalists have achieved the inclusion of one photographic image into PPA’s Loan Collection and three images into PPA’s General Collection. Congratulations to our Silver Medalist, Keely Deuschle.

PPA Master of Photography Degree Recipients

And finally, we proudly congratulations two our JPPG Members on earning their PPA Master of Photography Degree at the 2015 Award and Degree Ceremony in Nashville, TN. We congratulate Keely Deuschle and Kevin Floyd on this incredible accomplishment. The Master of Photography, abbreviated M.Photog., is awarded for superior photographic skills—demonstrated through the PPA International Photographic Competition, advanced education and service to the industry. Keely and Kevin proudly join our other JPPG Master Photographers Rick Bauer, Olis Garber, Michael Joseph, Susan Michal, and Marianne Pophal. Congratulations, Keely and Kevin! Learn more about PPA Degrees.

PPA President Susan Michal

We’d be remiss if we didn’t congratulate our own Susan Michal on an incredible year as PPA’s President. And what a way to end the year – an amazing convention in Nashville, TN with record attendance of 11,000+. We are so very proud of you, Susan!

2012 End of the Year Awards and Christmas Party

Our Holiday Party this year was so much fun!   Our President, Damon Fecitt, recapped this year’s highlights including an outstanding mini seminars series, getting nationally known guest speakers at our monthly meetings, our PPA accreditation and he introduced our 2013 Board of Directors.

One of the highlights of the evening was the presentation of the JPPG End of Year Awards. Each award has a different set of criteria which can be found on the End of Year Awards page. Congratulations to the 2012 recipients of these awards!

Photographer of the Year:   Olis Garber

Competitor of the Year Award:   Rick Bauer

Marjorie Sharpe Service Award:   Kevin Floyd

People’s Choice Award:   Trace Choulat

FPP 2012 Awards

The Florida Professional Photographers (FPP) put on another incredible convention this year! There were many amazing speakers, including our own Damon Fecitt and Michal Joseph, an awesome trade show, print competition with real-time viewing if you were not present, and more!

We are also EXTREMELY proud to have the #2 Photographer in Florida among our members. Congratulations to Olis Garber!

Several of our members also did very well in print competition! Congratulations!

JPPG also did really well in the inter-guild competition! They took ALL scores from every member of each section that stated their section affiliation. JPPF came in second place behind the Ft. Myers guild (PPSWF) by only 0.04 points! Ft. Myers/PPSWF: 79.60 with 30 entries and Jacksonville/JPPG: 79.56 with 18 entries.

This convention also means FPP says goodbye to it’s current president, our own Donna Campiz, and welcomes the new president Sandra Pearce-McAuley.

JPPG Website Wins PPA Award

We were recently notified that our JPPG.org website tied for THIRD in PPA’s 2012 Affiliate Communication Competition!

Each year, the Professional Photographers of America (PPA) hosts an annual competition for Affiliate Newsletters and Websites. PPA Affiliate newsletter Editors and Webmasters are invited to participate in this competition, designed to encourage excellence in Affiliate publications and to recognize the individuals who spend their time and energy editing, designing and maintaining these publications in order to keep their members informed.

Qualified judges from the communications field, specializing in different segments—from marketing communication to magazine editing – score the newsletters and websites in the following three areas:

  • editorial content
  • overall appearance
  • service to members

This year, Keely Deuschle, entered our JPPG website into the competition, competing against Affiliates across the country!

Congratulations to Keely and the other Affiliate winners in the Website category!
