PPSNF participated in it’s first ever display at the Art Walk in Downtown Jacksonville on February 3rd. The Art Walk takes place in the heart of Jacksonville near Hemming Plaza on the first Wednesday of every month. Thanks to Tammy Czigan, our guild was given the opportunity to provide a display showcasing some of the talent we have in PPSNF as well as bring awareness to our organization. Our gallery was set up at the Carling Hotel on Adams Street in a street-level raw space they refer to as “Suite 101”. We had approximately 30′ x 50′ of usable display space and we turned it in to a diverse and dynamic photographic display of fine art and families, brides and babies, portraits, pets and more.
The gallery featured the displays of work by Sherri & Larry Ebert, Hookey Hamilton, Jennifer Brum, Devin Faulkner, Tammy Czigan, Rick Bauer, Dan Harris, Michael and Karen Joseph, Damon Fecitt, Pat & Wanda Tankersley, Pat Lowe and Keely Deuschle. Our members not only displayed their work and made available their studio information, but many also had some of their work available for sale. Additionally, Pat Tankersley handed out a lot of PPSNF brochures introducing visitors to our guild! We hope when they read it, it will encourage them to seek out members of our guild for any of their photographic needs as let any photographers who may have also passed through know a bit more about our organization!
Everyone who participated was impressed with the amount of traffic we had coming through our gallery; there was always a steady stream of visitors.
We extend a huge thanks to Tammy Czigan for taking care of all the arrangements so that we could participate and to Devin Faulkner for being our photographer for the evening! We’re hoping to do it again, so if you missed out this time, we hope you’ll consider joining us the next time!
