Nov 22 | Special Program – Creative Lighting and Dynamic Posing with Rick Ferro, M.Photog.Cr.

Join us for a fun and informative day with nationally renowned photographer and speaker Rick Ferro. You’ll walk away with skills to improve your lighting & posing and PPA members will also receive a merit to use towards your degrees.

Everything in photography is based on light, but with portraits, knowing how to correctly pose the subject is just as important. In this one day workshop, Rick will show you how to enhance your images using ambient light mixed with off-camera flash and LED lighting. He will also show how mastering posing will increase the dynamics of your final image.

PPA members will receive a merit for attending this seminar.

The morning will include an overview and explanation of equipment and a lighting and posing demonstration. Rick will demonstrate different poses and lighting techniques that the class will each use in the afternoon.

After lunch, the class will break into 3-4 groups, each group with a different set up and lighting, including a model. Each photographer will be given the opportunity to pose the model and light the subject based on what Rick showed in the morning

The result will be hands-on learning and experience. Whether you are just starting out as a photographer or are a professional photographer looking to enhance your skills, you will take away something new.

Please bring your own digital camera and flash card. Camera strap recommended. Models, light meters, and lighting will be provided.
